5 Ways to Fight Early Signs of Aging

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends wearing sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher and reapplying it every one to three hours, depending on your exposure to direct sunlight. Regular sunscreenuse can slow down the signs of aging, according to various studies (Green et al., 2013; Shreya and Usha Yogendra, 2019).

Tip #2: Eat a healthy, balanced diet. Including fresh fruits and vegetables in your daily diet can prevent premature skin aging. Junk foods high in sugar or other refined carbohydrates can speed up aging. Consuming foods rich in anti-inflammatory or antioxidant properties like green tea, olive oil, avocados, and flax seeds can protect you against skin damage and premature aging.

Tip #3: Clean your skin and moisturize regularly. A gentle exfoliator and face wash can remove pollution, makeup, and weariness without irritating your skin. Moisturizersrich in hyaluronic acid and vitamin C can effectively prevent wrinkles from forming or getting deeper.

Tip #4: Avoid nicotine and alcohol. Nicotine intake narrows blood vessels, reducing oxygen flow to skin cells.
