What are the benefits of the nanopen?
The nanopen promotes skin rejuvenation and faster skin turnover through microchanneling which is similar to traditional microneedling but gentler and safer on your skin. The microchannels created by the nanopen close within 20 minutes which promotes faster recovery while also dramatically reducing the risk of infection.
Why can’t the nanochip be used more than once?
Dermafirm stands behind safety and wellness. Using a nanochip more than once puts you at the risk of infection. Using a new nanochip with each treatment provides you with optimal, consistent results. We want our customers to have the best experience possible using our products and to also promote your wellbeing and safety at the same time.
How often can I use the nanopen, and why?
The nanopen is recommended to be used once a week. Depending on your skin composition, you can choose to use the nanopen less frequently if your skin is sensitive or more frequently, but no more than twice a week. You know your skin best so choose what works best for your skin condition. Please note, how often you use the nanopen may also depend on sun exposure. The nanopen shouldn’t be used before high sun exposure.
Please note: the nanopen treatment is not recommended on active acne, moderate to severe eczema, skin conditions that have extreme keloidal tendency, local infection such as herpes and warts and on any open wounds; the nanopen should not be used by anyone receiving anticoagulant therapy, chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
Should we keep the face moist while running the nanopen over it?
Yes, keeping the face moist allows the nanopen to glide more smoothly across your skin.
Can you use your own serum with the nanopen?
Yes, the nanopen can be used in conjunction with other serums and ampoules as long as they are designed for MTS (Microneedle Therapy System).
Can you be in the sun immediately before or after using the nanopen?
You may use the nanopen after sun exposure, but not on skin that is sunburned. We recommend limiting sun exposure for 24 hours after using the nanopen. If you do go outside, wear plenty of sunscreen and if possible, wear a hat that covers your face.
Can I use 3X ampoule and the nanopen on dark spots or for hyperpigmentation?
Yes, the BIOTOC 3X ampoule and the nanopen are helpful to treat hyperpigmentation. The ampoule is formulated with brightening ingredients such as niacinamide, which treats hyperpigmentation. This pairs well with how the nanopen creates microchanneling for faster skin turnover.
Always remember to apply sunblock before going outside as part of your regular skin care routine.
Can I use the nanopen on facial hair?
Why do the ampoule ingredients need to be mixed before use?
The BIOTOC 3X ampoule was designed with fresh activation to make the ingredients as fresh and potent as possible at the time of use.
Why does the ampoule have a fragrance - aren’t those toxic?
Dermafirm’s fragrance ingredient went through safety testing by dermatologists before it was released to the public. A fragrance-free 3x ampoule is currently under development.
How do you keep the active fermented ingredients stable after mixing?
The activated ampoule has a shelf-life of two months at room temperature and fermented ingredients are stabilized by TerraBiome (Dermafirm’s unique fermentation technology) process.
Why is it recommended to keep the activated ampoule in a refrigerator?
Refrigeration extends the potency of the botanical ingredients.
How long is one vial supposed to last?
This depends on usage - one to three weeks depending how much and how often the ampoule is applied. On average, one vial lasts around two weeks if used twice a day on a daily basis.
Should I not use this product (MEDI NANOPEN-PRO) if I have certain conditions or skin treatments?

What should I avoid doing after using the nanopen treatment?
For 24 hours following nanopen treatment, avoid using makeup cushions and sponges (from compacts) in order to avoid infection from bacteria on previously used applicators. Use clean fingers or new applicators when applying makeup. Also avoid direct sun exposure and chlorine in swimming pools. If you do go outside, wear plenty of sunscreen and if possible, wear a hat that covers your face.
